SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — An attorney for suspended Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd says he hopes to have a plea deal in place by the end of the month on his client’s misdemeanor drunken driving arrest.

A St. Joseph County magistrate granted attorney William Stanley’s request Tuesday that action in the case be delayed until June 29 so he can obtain the narrative of the arrest report. Floyd didn’t attend Tuesday’s hearing.

Floyd was arrested March 20 after authorities say he ran a stop sign near the school. Prosecutors say a breathalyzer test showed Floyd had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19 percent, more than double Indiana’s legal limit for driving. If convicted, the 21-year-old Floyd faces up to a year in jail.

Notre Dame said Monday that Floyd could participate in summer workouts.
