Letter: Half-staff flags honor fallen

As a proud parent of a U.S. soldier, I have been very upset the last couple of days by the lack of flag etiquette in this county. Flags should have been at half staff in honor of two soldiers from our state killed in action in Afghanistan and Iraq last week. Gov. Chris Gregoire has decreed that flags be flown at half staff June 7 in honor of a soldier from Port Angeles and all flagpoles in this county should pay respect. A flag at half staff gets attention and makes us ask questions. I’ve witnessed it.
