Letter: Truck traffic heavy again on 4th Plain

The Columbian
Published: June 5, 2011, 5:00pm

I and many other commuters here in downtown Vancouver wonder why huge semi-tractor trailers are still using Fourth Plain from the Fruit Valley and Port of Vancouver areas to the I-5 onramp.

I do believe we spent money to create the Mill Plain bypass so the single-lane traffic on Fourth Plain is not so dangerous and crowded. At times only one truck gets through a green light, leaving a line of upset drivers. I really do not get it.

What it tells me is that many truck drivers and the people they haul for care only about themselves and the 10 minutes they save ruining Fourth Plain. They are not leading in their field of work when they do not use the truck route we spent money on.
