MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have selected a couple of familiar names on the second day of the MLB draft.

The Twins took former Eden Prairie High School standout Madison Boer in the second round and Dereck Rodriguez, the son of star catcher Ivan Rodriguez, in the sixth round on Tuesday.

Boer was taken with the 87th overall pick. The right-hander went 3-6 with a 2.27 ERA as a junior at Oregon this season.

Dereck Rodriguez played center field and also did some pitching for Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami. His father is a 14-time All-Star.

The Twins also took right-hander Jason Wheeler in the eighth round. Wheeler was the Northwoods League pitcher of the year while playing for the St. Cloud River Bats last summer.
