Community members are invited to a dedication of a new neighborhood park. The celebration will be noon Saturday at the Kate and Clarence LaLonde Neighborhood Park, 4608 N.E. 99th St.

Clark County Commissioner Tom Mielke, Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission co-chair Florence Wager and a representative from the Northeast Hazel Dell Neighborhood Association will speak.

The neighborhood association also will present its Community Partner Awards. Free refreshments will be provided.

The 7.7-acre park features walking trails, a playground with farm-themed equipment, a basketball half-court, open lawn play areas, picnic area, benches and a drinking fountain. The LaLonde family operated a farm on the property for 100 years before selling the property to the county for a public park. The park is named for Kate and Clarence LaLonde, who first purchased the property in the early 1900s.
