Letter: Progressives condone lying

The Columbian
Published: June 9, 2011, 5:00pm

Recently a buffoon Republican congressman, Chris Lee from New York, sent a picture of himself, sans shirt, over the Internet. He was forced to resign almost before you knew what happened.

Now we have a progressive congressmen, Democrat Anthony Weiner, from the same state, who has done much worse, then lied about it for over a week, and claims he hasn’t broken any laws and so he doesn’t need to resign.

If the progressive party leadership does not force Weiner to resign, they well prove to all of America what a lot of people already think. They condone lying and don’t consider lying to the American people a crime. If that is the case, why do any of them deserve to be elected? Even more importantly, why should any of them ever be re-elected?
