Native Ruler wins Churchill feature

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Native Ruler rallied to edge General Quarters by a neck Friday in the feature race at Churchill Downs.

The 7-year-old son of Elusive Quality, ridden by Miguel Mena, was fifth in the field of six before cutting between Wise Dan and Homerun Berti for the victory, covering 7 furlongs in 1:23.30.

He paid $6.40, $3.60 and $2.80, General Quarters returned $3.60 and $3.20, and Agastache paid $4.80 to show.

Native Ruler, owned by Maggi Moss, earned $38,820, increasing his career total to $632,516 for 16 wins in 37 starts.
