MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. (AP) — Ryan Villopoto raced to his first AMA Motocross victory of the year, winning the first moto and finishing second in the second Saturday at High Point Raceway.
Villopoto, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider from Poulsbo, Wash., beat Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey by more than 8 seconds in the first 450 Class moto. After a rain shower, Australia’s Chad Reed, the championship points leader and winner of the previous two rounds, took the second moto.
In the 250 Class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett, from Grand Terrace, Calif., captured his second win in three races, sweeping the motos.
