TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Stuart Tapley hit two home runs and drove in five runs, Justin Gonzalez had a three-run homer and six RBIs and Florida State routed Texas A&M 23-9 on Sunday to force a third game in the Gainesville Super Regional.

The winner Monday will advance to the College World Series.

Jayce Boyd hit his third home run in three game games for Florida State (46-18). He finished 4 for 4, drove in three runs and scored five times.

Florida State is trying to reach the College World Series for the 21st time, while Texas A&M (46-20) is seeking its first CWS appearance since 1999.

The Seminoles set a season high for runs and a school record for runs in a Super Regional game. FSU scored 14 times in a 2008 victory over Wichita State. Texas A&M allowed its most runs since 1996.

Florida State scored in every inning but the fifth and ninth to support Scott Sitz (4-2), who picked up the win in relief. Neither starting pitcher lasted very long. Freshman Derrick Hadley (0-1) started for Texas A&M but pitched just an inning. Florida State’s Mike McGee pitched two innings.

Brandon Wood had a two-run double, and Tyler Naquin, Matt Juengel and Andrew Collazo each had two hits for Texas A&M.
