PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Labor has announced a nearly $1.3 million National Emergency Grant to help about 1,050 Oregon workers affected by layoffs at Monaco Coach Corp. in Coburg.
Federal officials said Monday the grant is the second installment for workers laid off by the recreational vehicle manufacturer after nearly $1.7 million was released initially, bringing the total to almost $3 million.
The money will be used to help workers train and compete for new jobs.
The latest grant will be administered through the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development.
