OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- King County Councilman Reagan Dunn is running for attorney general in 2012.
The Republican said Tuesday he is entering the campaign because he is concerned about the overall direction of Washington state government. Dunn will try to replace current Attorney General Rob McKenna, who is running for governor. Dunn was previously appointed to McKenna's county council seat in 2005 after McKenna won election to attorney general.
McKenna is endorsing Dunn, saying he brings the right balance of criminal and civil experience that the state needs.
Dunn is a former federal prosecutor who says his experience will help him support local prosecutors and sheriffs. He says he's raised over $100,000 in the two week since he's started organizing his campaign.
