BRUSSELS (AP) — Reigning Olympic high jump champion Tia Hellebaut is coming out of retirement, seeking to defend her title at next year’s London Games.

Tuesday’s announcement came four months after the Belgian gave birth to a second daughter, Saartje.

Hellebaut first retired in 2008, shortly after she won gold at the Beijing Olympics. She gave birth to Lotte the next year before returning to competition, only to retire again because of the second pregnancy.

Blanka Vlasic of Croatia has dominated the women’s high jump since the Beijing Olympics.
