SEATTLE (AP) — The King County sheriff’s office says a deputy who broke his wrist trying to tackle a fleeing suspect is recovering at home.

The deputy had stopped the drunken driving suspect early Wednesday in the White Center area south of Seattle when the driver took off running.

The deputy managed to grab his jacket when the suspect turned and the deputy fell, fracturing a wrist. He was treated at Valley Medical Center in Renton.

The driver ran away.
