The Southwest Washington Safe Streets Task Force, an interagency gang unit, arrested nine wanted persons Wednesday during a one-day sweep that also netted four guns, two pounds of narcotics and an undisclosed amount of money.

The names of the suspects were not released. The warrant sweep targeted armed career criminals, gang members, drug traffickers and prolific auto thieves, according to a Vancouver Police Department news bulletin announcing the arrests.

The task force was helped by officers from the Washington Department of Corrections, members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Detective Unit, detectives from the Southwest Washington Auto Theft Task Force, Vancouver Police patrol officers and special agents from both the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the FBI.

The seized drugs included methamphetamine and cocaine. Additional information was not immediately available.
