Despite 32 points each from Lawrence Blackledge and Andre Murray, the Vancouver Volcanoes dropped their second straight game to the Portland Chinooks, 133-129 in International Basketball League play Thursday at the Beaverton Hoop.

Vancouver (10-6), which has lost five of its last seven games, was coming off a one-point loss to the Chinooks (7-11) on Monday.

This time, the Volcanoes did not come within a tip-in of victory. But the team did rally with a 40-point fourth quarter.

The Volcanoes shot 44.9 percent from the field to Portland’s 58.1 percent.

In addition to his 32 points, Murray dished out 11 assists. Josh Tarver had 23 points and 11 assists, and Devin Uskoski had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Brad Lechtenberg added 12 points.

Former Oregon State standout David Lucas led the Chinooks with 29 points. Brian Morris had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Kevin Ford also had 24 points. Mac Hopson added 21 points and 11 assists.

The Volcanoes are off until hosting their final two regular-season games. The Kankakee County Soldiers of Illinois are scheduled to visit the O’Connell Center next Friday, followed by the Olympia Reign on June 26.
