Clark County commissioners are seeking applicants to fill a spot on the Columbia River Gorge Commission.

Applicants must reside in Clark County.

The opening became available after Vancouver resident Joe Palena, who has served on the commission since 1999, did not seek reappointment.

The term expires June 30, 2015.

Columbia River Gorge Commission members make decisions on land use applications, hear appeals of county land use decisions and modify the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Management Plan.

Applicants should have some knowledge of the growth management plan and land use planning.

The commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at various locations throughout the Gorge.

Applicants can send a letter of interest and a résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of Clark County Commissioners, PO Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000, or email her at jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, July 8.
