All-Region Boys Tennis Player of the Year

Season highlights

• Won his first-round match at the Class 4A state championships.

• After falling in the quarterfinals, Andreasen rebounded to win his next two matches to place fourth at state.

• A junior, Andreasen has now made it to state all three years — with two placings. He was second in 2010.

• Took second place at the district tournament in the fall, then took second at the bi-district tourney in spring.

• Most influential person: “My mom (Keiko Andreasen). I play this sport so much. It’s hard to mentally stay in it year-round. When I’m down, she always motivates me to keep playing. She helps me enjoy the sport more.”

Next year and beyond

• Andreasen said he wants to maintain a high grade point average and get a high SAT score. Eventually, he wants to play tennis in college. “That’s my dream.”

• Connor Horne, jr., Union: Teamed with Foster to win district title and place third at 4A state.

• Nico Lemo-Severich, sr., Washougal: Exchange student from Bolivia placed third at 2A state.

• Alex Wallace, jr., Union: 4A district singles champion; Class 4A GSHL all-league first team.
