BOSTON (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Mark DiFelice from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

The move came after the team designated lefty Daniel Herrera for assignment following Friday’s loss to the Red Sox.

DiFelice, who missed the entire 2010 season while recovering from right rotator cuff surgery, was 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA in Nashville.

Herrera appeared in two games, giving up five runs — four earned — in 1 2-3 innings. He pitched one inning in Friday’s 10-4 loss, giving up four runs, including three earned.
