LOS ANGELES (AP) — A hearing is under way in Los Angeles to determine whether the main suspect in the beating of a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium will remain in custody for allegedly violating terms of his parole.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says the parole revocation hearing for 31-year-old Giovanni Ramirez began Monday morning at the Men’s Central Jail. The proceeding is being conducted behind closed doors.

The convicted felon has not been charged in the March 31 attack on Giants Fan Bryan Stow but has been kept in custody on a parole violation hold for allegedly being in possession of a firearm.
