MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian soccer club is accusing riot police of zapping striker Danko Lazovic with an electric shock as he tried to throw his shirt into the stands during a league match.

Television footage shows the shirtless Serbian being approached by police officers as he moved toward the away fans in the match Saturday at Volga Nizhny Novgorod.

Zenit St. Petersburg says Lazovic was given an electric shock that left a burn mark under his right shoulder blade. Police deny the accusation.

The Sport Express newspaper quotes Lazovic as saying police may have mistaken him for a fan of Zenit, the defending champion.
