Fruit Valley — The Fruit Valley Neighborhood Association recently demonstrated its appreciation for Vancouver police and its Neighbors On Watch (NOW) volunteer program with a $1,000 gift.

Lee and Karen McCallister, longtime neighborhood leaders, presented a check to Police Chief Cliff Cook on June 6. The funds were raised by the association, which voted unanimously to donate it to the NOW program.

Fruit Valley is issuing a challenge to the other Vancouver neighborhood associations to match or beat their donation. NOW volunteers train and work in partnership with VPD to patrol, detect and report crime.
