KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — An Afghan official says the death toll from a car bombing outside a medical clinic in eastern Afghanistan has risen to at least 25.

Din Mohammad Darwesh, a spokesman for the provincial governor, says Saturday’s blast hit a hospital in the Azra district of Logar province. He says more than 40 people were wounded, including patients, visitors, and staff.

Afghan officials say they are planning a helicopter trip to the remote, restive district to help dig victims out of the rubble and transport them to better medical facilities.
