SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service says a task force targeting violent offenders swept through Eastern Washington this week, making 174 felony arrests.

U.S. Marshal for Eastern Washington Craig Thayer says the arrest warrants were for 20 counties in Eastern Washington, with a focus on the Spokane, Tri-Cities and Yakima regions.

The arrests were made Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As many as 57 task force officers participated in one day.

Thayer said in a statement Friday that the excellent level of cooperation between all the participating law enforcement agencies accounts for the operation’s success.
