The Vancouver Volcanoes play their final two regular-season International Basketball League home games today and Sunday at Clark College.
At 7 p.m. today, the Volcanoes play the Kankakee County Soldiers from Illinois.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, the Volcanoes take on the Olympia Reign.
The Volcanoes are 10-6, despite losing four of their previous five games by narrow margins. Kankakee County is 12-5. Olympia is 6-10.
The Volcanoes will host the IBL playoffs at Clark College July 1-3.
Football slated Saturday
The Clark County Vipers play their next-to-last regular-season game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Kiggins Bowl in Vancouver.
The Vipers host the South King County Colts for a Pacific Football League North Division game. Clark County is 6-2 in league play, 9-2 overall, having lost their last two games. The Colts are 5-3.
Vipers tickets cost $10, $5 for ages 5-12.
Run celebrates summer
At least 250 runners and walkers are expected in downtown Vancouver at 6 p.m. on Saturday to participate in the Summer Solstice Fun Run and Walk.
Participants can choose between a 3-mile course and a 6-mile loop. The event will benefit the YWCA Clark County.
Staged by Northwest Personal Training, the fourth-annual event will start and finish at its studio 1011 Broadway in downtown Vancouver.
Cost to register today is $55. Cost to register on Saturday is $60.
Registration and packet pick up can be done until 7 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday at Northwest Personal Training, 360-574-7292.
A pre-race costume contest will be held at 5 p.m. Post-race activities from 6:30-10 p.m. include live music and street dance, massages and stretching, a health fair and food vendors.
