EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) — A student pilot and his instructor received minor injuries when the ultralight aircraft they were flying crashed near Moses Lake.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says the aircraft crashed and flipped onto its top after experiencing engine trouble on Monday. Fuel from the aircraft spilled and ignited, but firefighters extinguished the fire.

Instructor Daryl Jackson, 70, of Moses Lake suffered burns to his right arm. Student pilot Samuel P. Clark, 58, of La Center, Wash. received cuts and bruises.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
