OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Democratic Rep. Jay Inslee is campaigning with a message of creating jobs, supporting innovation and streamlining government.

But he’s not providing many details.

Inslee repeatedly declined to provide specifics about his plans after launching his campaign in Seattle this week, even though he’s been maneuvering for months to run for the state’s highest office. Inslee responded vaguely to questions about whether he would support raising taxes, how he would make government more efficient and how much state pension money he would risk for a new investment idea.

The Democrat says specific proposals will come way down the road. He is now widely seen as the frontrunner to secure the Democratic nomination and campaign against Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna.
