VANCOUVER — WSU Clark County Extension is hosting a series of classes to promote learning how to preserve food.
Preserving and canning food is one affordable way to feed a family and these classes will give healthy and safe ways to learn how.
Certified food safety advisers will provide education about food preservation equipment and where to get it. They will also provide samples of products, printed instructions and resource lists.
The classes range from how to can jam and fruits to pressure-canning meats and vegetables.
The Food Preservation 101 series includes six different classes, from 6 to 8 p.m., and runs from July 7 to Aug. 11 at The Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St. The first class is Thursday, July 7.
Each class is $20 or $100 for all six classes. To register, call 360-397-6060. For more information, visit http://clark.wsu.edu/family.
