Dale Scott is umpire crew chief for All-Star game



NEW YORK (AP) — Dale Scott has been picked to be the home-plate umpire and serve as the crew chief for the All-Star game.

This is Scott’s 26th year in the majors and this will be his third All-Star assignment. The game will be played July 12 in Phoenix and the league that wins will get home-field advantage in the World Series.

The All-Star umpiring crew will include Jerry Layne at first base, Hunter Wendelstedt at second, Dan Iassogna at third, Ed Hickox in left field and Chris Guccione in right.

Layne will be working his third Al-Star game. It will be the first for Guccione, Hickox, Iassogna and Wendelstedt.
