WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington coach Flip Saunders will miss the Wizards’ game Wednesday against Golden State to address “a family emergency involving his mother.”
Assistant coach Randy Wittman will lead the team in Saunders’ absence. Wittman also served as head coach when Saunders missed a game for the same reason on Dec. 29 against Indiana.
Saunders also missed Tuesday’s practice. It isn’t known whether he will return for Washington’s next game Saturday against Minnesota.
