North Florida upsets Jacksonville 68-64 in A-Sun

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Jerron Granberry scored 23 points as sixth-seeded North Florida pulled off a 68-64 upset of third-seeded Jacksonville on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament.

The Ospreys (14-18) advance to the semifinals, where they will play East Tennessee State on Friday.

Jacksonville (19-11) won the two regular-season meetings by a total of three points, including one game in overtime, and led 28-22 at halftime Thursday. The Dolphins expanded their lead to 10 with 11:17 to play, but were outscored by 14 the rest of the way.

Granberry hit 7 of 8 shots from the floor and 8 of 9 from the foul line. Andy Diaz added 19 points for North Florida and Jimmy Williams had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Jacksonville, which was trying to secure back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1973-74, was led by Ayron Hardy with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
