A Vancouver man faces allegations of cocaine trafficking following a police sting operation in Oregon.

Yamhill County, Ore., sheriff’s deputies say they arrested David Olvera Marinquez, 22, of Vancouver and Davi Olvera Allen, 27, of Sheridan, Ore., on Wednesday.

Detectives said they conducted a sting; Allen agreed to provide three ounces of cocaine to a potential buyer in Tualatin, Ore. The area was placed under surveillance and investigators saw the two men meet. About three ounces of powdered cocaine was recovered nearby, where police said one of the suspects had thrown it.

According to Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree, Allen and Marinquez were lodged at the Washington County, Ore., Jail on charges of unlawful delivery and possession of cocaine and are currently being held on $50,000 bail each. They will be arraigned Friday in Washington County Circuit Court.

The Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team was assisted by the Oregon State Police, the Yamhill County Community Response Team, and the Newberg Police Department.
