Arizona State holds off Oregon State 59-54

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Kimberly Brandon scored 15 points, and Arizona State held off Oregon State for a 59-54 victory in the regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday.

Tenaya Watson added 14 points for the Sun Devils (19-9, 12-7 Pac-10), who have won 17 straight against Oregon State.

El Sara Greer and Alyssa Martin each scored 13 points for Oregon State (9-20, 2-16), which trailed by as many as seven points midway through the second half.

Sage Indendi’s 3-pointer for Oregon State narrowed it to 45-43 with 7:29 left, but the Sun Devils wouldn’t let the Beavers get any closer until Martin made two free throws to close it to 53-52 with 2:24 left.

After Deja Mann’s jumper for Arizona State, Alexis Bostick made two of four free throws, getting Oregon State as close as 55-54 with 53 seconds left.

Arizona State, which led 31-27 at the half, hit its foul shots the rest of the way.
