FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Kevin Olekaibe scored 17 points to lead Fresno State past Hawaii 85-70 on Saturday night.

Greg Smith added 16 points and 16 rebounds for Fresno State (14-16, 6-10 Western Athletic Conference), which snapped a four-game conference losing streak.

Zane Johnson scored 21 points for Hawaii (18-11, 8-8), which had won five straight WAC games. Bill Amis added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Rainbow Warriors.

Fresno State led by nearly double digits from the opening tip and maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.

Led by Smith, the Bulldogs outrebounded Hawaii 43-30, including a 16-8 edge on the offensive glass.

Hawaii will be the No. 5 seed and Fresno State No. 7 at next week’s WAC tournament in Las Vegas.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-4 lead that soon became 25-10 with 10:18 to go in the first half after Olekaibe hit three 3-pointers in close succession.
