Vancouver — A trio of local salmon recovery experts will take part in a panel discussion following a free screening of “The Great Salmon Run.”

The event is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. March 15 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4505 E. 18th St.

Peter Barber with the Lower Columbia Fish Enhancement Group, Jeff Wittler of Clark Public Utilities and Dave Brown of Northwest Wild Fish Rescue will share their efforts helping to recover native salmon.

“‘The Great Salmon Run’ takes an incredible look at the dangers that salmon must go through to reach their spawning grounds to perpetuate their species,” said Gary Bock, executive director of the Vancouver Watersheds Council. “… These three individuals and their organizations help make the salmon’s struggle a little less treacherous.”

The watersheds council is co-hosting the event with Clark County Environmental Services.
