VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A trial is scheduled to begin Monday for a Vancouver man accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife.

The Columbian newspaper reports the trial of 32-year-old Terrence C. Herndon in Clark County Superior Court is expected to last four days.

Prosecutors allege that while Herndon was in the Clark County Jail earlier this year, he tried to hire a fellow inmate to kill 35-year-old Kristina Herndon and burn down her house. He was arrested in October on domestic violence-related charges.
