STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Kemba Walker says he’s happy with the regular season Connecticut has had, despite the team’s poor finish.

The 21st-ranked Huskies, who had been ranked as high as fourth in the nation this season, go into Tuesday’s Big East tournament as the No. 9 seed, after losing four of their last five games.

But Walker says with a team that has no seniors and three freshman playing significant roles, 21 wins and an almost certain NCAA tournament berth is something he would have signed on for in October.

Walker has had a great season, averaging more than 23 points, five rebounds and four assists in what is expected to be the junior’s final year before leaving for the NBA.

The Huskies (21-9, 9-9 Big East) face DePaul (7-23, 1-17) at noon on Tuesday. UConn beat the Blue Demons 82-62 on their only regular-season meeting in January.
