KELSO, Wash. (AP) — Police say a man who was shot and killed by an officer in Kelso had pointed a gun at officers.
The Daily News or Longview reports the shooting early Tuesday followed a four-hour standoff with police who had responded to a report the man was armed and suicidal.
Police chief Andy Hamilton says officers tried to contact the man who was distraught over personal issues. Hamilton says the man was shot when he was seen aiming what appeared to be a rifle out a sliding glass door.
