TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Ervin Santana worked three scoreless innings in his second spring start, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.

Santana allowed one hit, struck out two and walked two. He is coming off a strong 2010 season, when he went 17-10 with a 3.92 ERA while setting career highs in wins, innings pitched (222.2) and starts (33).

Rangers starter Eric Hurley also was sharp, walking two in three hitless innings.

Maicer Izturis had an RBI double in the sixth for Los Angeles, and Jeff Mathis drove in a run with a squeeze in the seventh.
