NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Dallas center Tyson Chandler says he’s ready to return from his right ankle sprain and play in Wednesday night’s game against the Hornets, who are getting forward Trevor Ariza back from a groin strain.
Chandler and Ariza each have missed their teams’ past three games.
Hornets coach Monty Williams says he’s putting Ariza, who has averaged 11 points and 5.4 rebounds this season, back in the starting lineup.
Chandler did not make the decision to play until doing some work on the court about an hour before tip off. He says he’s pleased to return to action in New Orleans against his old team.
In 57 games this season — all starts — Chandler has averaged 10.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.
