ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — Albany police say a former church youth director accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 14-year-old girl at his church has been arrested and charged with luring a minor.

Police said Thursday that 24-year-old Sean Feltmann was arrested March 4 after a grand jury indictment.

The Albany Democrat-Herald reports the investigation began Jan. 9, when the girl’s parents reported the communication to police.

Feltmann had been director of youth at Willamette Community Church.

KATU-TV says church leaders issued a statement saying they are saddened and “deeply concerned for the family that was hurt.” Pastors say Feltmann resigned from his post Jan. 15.

Feltmann has been released on bail. He could not immediately be reached for comment.
