Louisiana Tech advances past Nevada 66-59

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Adrienne Johnson scored 24 points to lead Louisiana Tech past Nevada 66-59 on Friday in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

The top-seeded Bulldogs (24-6) led most of the way to advance to Saturday’s WAC championship game, where they will play the winner of the other semifinal between Fresno State and Utah State.

The fourth-seeded Wolfpack (21-10) got as close as 57-55 on a layup by Kate Kevorkan with 4:41 left.

But Jasmine Bendolph hit a 3-pointer with 3:24 to go that gave Louisiana Tech a 60-55 lead to seal the game.

Bendolph finished with 10 points for Louisiana Tech and Kiara Young added 14.

Tahnee Robinson led the Wolfpack with 23 points while Johnna Ward and Kayla Williams each added 10.
