YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A former Yakima County sheriff’s deputy accused of attacking a woman while on duty is expected to plead guilty to multiple felonies.
Yakima County Prosecutor Jim Hagarty says Sean Moore will plead guilty Friday to charges involving rape, assault and burglary, although details of a plea agreement were still being resolved.
Moore, 37, resigned from the sheriff’s office Wednesday, following allegations that he entered a woman’s Selah home in October and assaulted her and a male friend while he was in uniform and on duty. The woman reported that he returned later that same day and forced her to perform a sex act.
The Yakima Herald Republic reports that Moore has been jailed since his arrest because prosecutors were concerned that he posed a threat to the woman if released.
