INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Big Ten could determine future sites for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and the football championship game by this summer.

Deputy commissioner Brad Traviolia tells The Associated Press that conference officials hope to have a recommendation to the conference’s board of directors this spring. A vote would come after that.

Traviolia says Indianapolis, current host city for all three events, is still under consideration, Chicago, home of league headquarters, is also believed to be making a bid. Traviolia would not say what other cities are in the mix.

Indy will host the league’s inaugural football title game this year. The city has one more year on its five-year deal to host the basketball tournaments.
