Brush Prairie — Dorothy Buchner of Brush Prairie has been chosen as a semi-finalist for the 2011 American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show & Contest in Paducah, Ky.

Her quilt, called the Log Cabin Diamond Star, will be displayed at the Paducah Expo Center from April 27-30 during the show.

While it was Buchner’s creation that was selected to be in the international quilt show, the completed work was a group effort. Deborah Watson who owns Quilts, Etcetera in Vancouver did the long-arm machine quilting and Virginia Gallup created the paper pattern, a modified log cabin design.

The annual AQS quilt show drew contestants from 45 states and 15 countries.
