Thunderstorms are possible for parts of the Portland-Vancouver area through this evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters even raised the potential for a tornado forming in the mid-afternoon, after Doppler radar spotted a heavy band of moisture forming in the West Linn area. The weather service ended a severe thunderstorm warning at 3 p.m., but forecasters said residents can expect continued unsettled weather through this evening.

“There is still a lot of convection around,” said Andy Bryant, with the weather service in Portland. “We’re going to have the potential for thunderstorms through the rest of the afternoon and into early evening.”
