OSLO, Norway (AP) — Two-time Olympic champion Magdalena Neuner clinched the World Cup biathlon title ahead of Kaisa Makarainen of Finland after winning the last sprint race of the season Thursday.

The German completed the 7.5-kilometer Holmenkollen course in 21 minutes, 4.6 seconds with one missed target.

Tora Berger of Norway also missed one shot and finished 31.3 seconds behind. Darya Domracheva of Belarus was third, 46.1 seconds back.

Makarainen led the sprint standings before Thursday’s race but failed to overcome three penalty loops to finish 1:24.1 behind Neuner in 19th place.

The 24-year-old Neuner also tops the overall standings with two races remaining. She won the sprint crystal globe in 2008.
