WACO, Texas (AP) — Brittney Griner has already had an impact on women’s basketball like few players before her.
The 6-foot-8 sophomore, known for her dunks and blocks, goes into the NCAA tournament averaging 22.6 points and 7.8 rebounds a game for Baylor.
As dominating as Griner has been in her two seasons for the Lady Bears, she wants to do even more. She says she doesn’t think she’s all that good.
Baylor, which plays Prairie View at home Sunday night, went to the Final Four with Griner when she was a freshman last season. This year, the Lady Bears were Big 12 regular season and tournament champions and are a No. 1 seed for the first time.
