The Washougal School District has named four finalists, including three Washington residents, for its soon-to-be vacant superintendent position. Washougal Superintendent Teresa Baldwin is retiring in June.

Washougal Assistant Superintendent Rebecca Miner, who has held her current position since 2007, is a finalist.

The others are Robert Kuehl of Olympia; James Sutton of Kalama; and Dawn Tarzian of Albany, Ore. Sutton is the superintendent of the Kalama School District, while Tarzian holds the same title in the Corvallis (Ore.) School District. Kuehl is the assistant superintendent for human resources in Tumwater School District.

The finalists will tour schools and meet with district staff, students and the public Friday. The following day they will meet with the Washougal Board of Directors. Residents are invited to meet the candidates from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Washougal High School Commons, 1201 39th St.
