Northwest Pipe Co. expects to report a loss of $1.5 million for 2010, the company said last week in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That compares with a loss of $7.3 million for 2009.

The Vancouver-based maker of steel pipe said it expects to report net sales of about $380 million for 2010. That compares with net sales of $278.7 million for 2009.

The company also said it will be late in filing its annual financial report for 2010. The company plans to file the report “as soon as practicable,” according to its March 17 filing with the SEC.

Northwest Pipe shares closed at $22.51 Monday, up 2.18 percent.
