The Urban League of Portland, National Urban League and Walgreens are partnering to offer free health screenings in the Portland-Vancouver area.

The nine-day wellness tour will bring a fully equipped health education and screening vehicle to several locations in the area. Health professionals will provide individuals with free screenings for cholesterol levels, blood pressure, glucose, bone density, body mass index and waist circumference.

The screenings are designed for detection and prevention of diseases such as high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and obesity.

The Urban League is coordinating with several health organizations to provide referrals to free clinics in the area.

The tour will make one stop in Vancouver from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Walgreens store at 2521 Main St. in Vancouver.

The tour began in Portland March 15.
